Post Re: Bad Company 2 GPU Performance In-depth
I'm suffering with BC2 atm - It plays alright at start but slowly over the course of about 4 rounds my performance starts to slowly degenerate....and I can't work out why this would be.

I'm just above the minimum specs, playing on low quality and I still get this....Ok yeah I know, I know, I'm playing on a laptop so it's my own fault....but if i'm above minimum spec I don't see why this should be happening.

I exit the game and start it up again and all is fine...then it slowly degenerates again.

Don't suppose anyone's got any ideas what it could be causing it? Pretty sure it's not an overheating problem, memory leak maybe?

Sounds like a memory leak somewhere....

Yeah my first thoughts were overheating and memory leak but I don't seem to be overheating and I'd think if it was a memory leak then other people would be having problems

Meh

*edit* - do you reckon forcing a lower DirectX version through the settings.ini file would help?

*edit^2* - yeah I forced it to use dx9 and now i have no fps drops or slowdowns at all - I think it's a problem with the latest ATI drivers

also I found this as a possible fix for voip not working, I haven't had a chance to try it yet tho http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-bad-company-2-pc/947680-possible-voip-fix.html

I got the same problem, after some maps fps drops slowly, especially in snow maps with a lot of snowy fog.
