I'm going to almost guess, because I haven't bothered to check it properly, but I'll give a reason.
I think it's the number of films that won oscars each year, newest to oldest, which would make the missing one 13. Maybe.

Two weeks on and a bigger clue...
Specifically related to films as a whole success and not related to individual Oscars.
Aaand the answer is 12, a film The English Patient from 1996 with 12 nominations and 9 wins.
(movies have descending order by their wins and then, if they received the same amount of Oscars, they have ascending order by nominations chronologically) kinda rubbish English but I hope you can figure out what I meant
